The Disappearing Moving Company

Mega Moving and Storage company logoYou would imagine that things could not get any worse when all your belongings just ‘disappear’ during the course of a move. Not so for Kim and David Lague when the moving company they hired and the company owner vanished, as well as all their possessions.

The Lague’s hired Mega Moving and Storage of Brossard, Quebec to move them from Nova Scotia to Chatham, Ontario for a quoted $1,695. The quote included several months of free storage to give the couple time to find a new home in Chatham but when they contacted Mega Moving to arrange delivery the price had gone up to $6,061. All their furniture, winter clothes, family photos, passports, birth certificates and even specialized medical equipment, used by Kim after suffering a stroke, was being held hostage.

They contacted the police who could find no trace of Mega Moving and Storage at their registered business address on Côte de Liesse Road in Montreal. There was also no trace of the owner Fehmi Yasar at his home address in Brossard. The police investigation continues….
