Intrastate and Interstate Moves Are Very Different

What is the difference? At one level the answer is easy, Intrastate is when you move within the same State and Interstate is when you move from one State to another. However the two types of move are covered by totally different sets of rules and regulations. Interstate moves are governed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Intrastate moves are not. Interstate rules and regulations will depend on the State you are moving in and some States have stricter rules and regulations than others. If you are moving Interstate make sure you check with the relevant agency in your State before choosing a moving Company.
