Brokers Recommend Dud Moving Companies

Lone Star Moving Co logoYou may wonder why we at Moving Company Guide keep reminding readers to avoid brokers at all costs. It’s not only because they are just sales teams that sell your move to the highest bidding moving company and then absolve themselves from all responsibility. It’s also because they don’t care about your move or the quality of the movers. Take for example Lone Star Moving Co of San Antonio, Texas.

Better Business Bureau recently highlighted the fact that Lone Star Moving Co does not have a license (required by law) from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles which probably means they do not have the required insurance to handle damage claims. The company is also falsely using the BBB trademark on its website and operating from a non-existing postal address. Appalling reviews on the web show that this is a moving company to be avoided at all cost.

However moving brokers Movers.com, who claim “Our network is full of the best licensed and insured companies in the industry…”, list Lone Star Moving Co with 3 out of 5 stars and 100% recommended (see screenshot below).

So don’t rely on moving company brokers to do the due diligence for you and make sure you do thorough research before contracting a mover.
