Moving Company Name Change Does Not Stop Complaints

After our story in July, King Moving & Storage has changed its name to Go King Mover but the complaints keep coming in. Tammy Van Boening had her family’s belongings ruined by water damage and lost everything. Josh Zygielbaum had extensive damage and missing items during his move to the value of $20,000. Both families say the company has done nothing to resolve their claims and they doubt they will ever receive compensation (7 News, Denver video below).

After changing the name and revamping the website Go King Mover has removed the phony awards we highlighted and replaced them with a rosette ‘Upakt Verified’. Unpakt is a moving company broker that says on its website “…consumers have access to pre-screened movers”. Pre-screened for what? Not complaints obviously and certainly not background checks as Go King Mover’s CFO has done time for drug charges and the owner was ordered to pay the State of Colorado $275,000 last year for running telemarketing companies that deceived and defrauded consumers.

Regular readers will know that we strongly recommend that you never use a moving broker and this is yet another reason why.

  • Unpakt

Unpakt is an online platform to help customers find a moving company that suits their needs. Different than a broker, which would select the moving company for the customer, Unpakt’s platform allows the customer to make their own selections by providing the information and resources to make an informed decision. In addition to price comparisons, Unpakt’s platform allows customers to access reviews on each mover, bringing increased transparency to the booking process. Unpakt maintains a screening process for its movers both prior to and following the verification process. In addition to aggregating reviews from a multitude of platforms, Unpakt reviews the mover’s actual performance when a job is booked through Unpakt via customer follow-ups and surveys. Unpakt will handle any customer complaints that might arise, and further remove a mover from its network if it finds the mover does not meet the standards set forth by Unpakt.

Regarding Go King Mover, that company has actually been removed from the Unpakt platform in an effort to bring our customers access to only the best movers nationwide.
